{Review} Don't Let Go (Hope #5) by Jaci Burton

About The Book

Don't Let Go

Series: Hope, #6

Publication Date: July 26th 2016
Publisher: Jove

Genres: Contemporary

In the latest novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Love After All and the Play-By-Play novels, running from the past isn’t nearly as satisfying as facing the future…

Brady Conners is hardly the settling type, but when tragedy strikes in his family, he has no choice but to return home to Hope, Oklahoma. Setting up shop to work on custom motorcycles and pass the time, Brady has no intention of letting anyone get close—until he meets Megan.

Pastry shop owner Megan Lee is drawn to quiet, brooding Brady. Their connection is undeniable, and it quickly develops from physical attraction into something much stronger. But with Brady putting up barriers, Megan is afraid to truly open her heart—unless she can convince him to let go of the past…

Recommended Hot Summer Read!

Don't miss this one...
There was so much I enjoyed about Don't Let Go.

Lucky for us readers the small town of Hope is overflowing with an oddball assortment of characters - just waiting for inspiration to strike - and love to happen. Brady and Megan are very different individuals which, oddly, makes them an even more awesome couple. As expected, we get to spend time with previous characters, get updates.

FYI: I wanted the pup's name to be Strudel - and have decided our next furry addition will be named just that...since it is probably too late to get Ms. Burton to change her mind.

This Easy Apple Strudel recipe is a fast recipe that is a perfect compliment to the story! I made it and then topped it with my favorite topping a buttery, sweet crumb mix. I served it warm with coffee.

**Neither is my recipe, but both links will take you to Pinterest, with the details.

{Review} Now That I've Found You (The Sullivans #15) by Bella Andre

About The Book

Now That I've Found You

Series: Sullivans, #15

Publication Date: March 29th 2016
Publisher: Avon

Genres: Contemporary

Millions of readers have fallen in love with the San Francisco and Seattle Sullivans. Now get ready to fall head over heels for the New York Sullivans!

World-renowned artist Drake Sullivan doesn't paint women. Ever. Not when he knows all too well just how destructive painter/muse relationships can be. But on the day Rosa Bouchard walks onto the cliffs outside his Montauk cottage, Drake is so captivated that he can't stop himself from bringing her to life on canvas.

Shocked and horrified by the nude photos of her that have just hit the Internet, reality TV star Rosa's every instinct is to run from her Miami home and hide. After driving all night, she ends up in Montauk, New York, where she doesn't know a soul and plans to lie low until she can figure out how to deal with the media firestorm--and her own mother, who seems all too happy to sell out Rosa's happiness for more fame, more fans, and more money. The very last thing Rosa expects is to find, and to fall for, a sinfully sexy man like Drake Sullivan.

Drake has never felt this way about anything he's painted...and he's definitely never felt this way about a woman. When they kiss, everything but sweet, breathless desire melts away. But can he convince Rosa to trust--and to love--again after such a devastating betrayal?

Over a year has passed since I read the final Seattle Sullivan story, All I Ever Need Is You. I have desperately missed the Sullivans.

The youngest of four children Drake Sullivan is a painter, as was his father, with one drastic difference - the subject. He refuses to paint women, due to the fear of the past. Until a rainy day when he sees a woman on the cliffs outside his Montauk cottage. His long lost muse flares with inspiration.

I liked the ways readers were given insight into Rosa, she is revealed through Drake - his vision of her. She is a simple character, whose growth is enormaous.

Bella Andre has delivered another rich and complex extension to Sullivan family tree - more please.

{Review} All Chained Up (Devil's Rock #1) by Sophie Jordan

About The Book

All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan

Series: Devil's Rock, #1

Publication Date: March 29th 2016
Publisher: Avon

Genres: Contemporary

There are bad boys and then there are the men of Devil’s Rock . . .

Some men come with a built-in warning label. Knox Callaghan is one of them. Danger radiates from every lean, muscled inch of him, and his deep blue eyes seem to see right through to Briar Davis’s most secret fantasies. But there’s one major problem: Briar is a nurse volunteering at the local prison, and Knox is an inmate who should be off-limits in every way.

Knox feels it too—a shocking animal magnetism that drives him to risk his own life to protect Briar’s. Paroled at last, he tries to resist her. She’s too innocent, too sweet, and she has no idea what Knox is capable of. But a single touch can lead to a kiss—and a taste . . . until the only crime is denying what feels so right . . .

Having only previously read Sophie Jordan's New Adult book, Foreplay, I was unsure what to expect. The romance reminded this reader of the MISA relationship from Prison Break. Chemistry sizzles between inmate Knox Callaghan and Nurse Briar Davis.
"EIGHT YEARS TWO months and six days.
That was how long it had been since a woman voluntarily touched him."
Read this is a single day...couldn't (and didn't really want to) put this book down. I highly recommend All Chained Up - and I am desperate for the next installment, Hell Breaks Loose.

{Audio Review} Strong Enough (Family, #2) by Cardeno C.

About The Book

Strong Enough

Series:  Family, #2

Publication Date: April 28th 2014

When 22-year-old Emilio Sanchez sees handsome Spencer Derdinger walking by his construction site, Emilio makes it his goal to seduce the shy professor. Getting Spencer into bed isn't difficult, but Emilio soon learns that earning the trust of a man deeply hurt will take time and patience. With a prize like brilliant, sweet Spencer on the line, Emilio decides he is strong enough to face the challenge.

Spencer is surprised when he's approached by the gorgeous construction worker he's admired from the safety of his office window. Acting spontaneously for the first time in his 38 years, Spencer takes Emilio home. When the casual hookup turns into the potential for love, Spencer realizes that if he wants to build a life with Emilio, he'll need to be strong enough to slay his personal demons and learn to trust again.

Strong Enough is my first Cardeno C. - after reading the excerpt and listening to the snippet, I knew this was a must read.

Readers are often forced to make difficult decisions. So when writing a review, I ask myself why is this story/author better/worse than the others available.

Math professor, Spencer Derdinger, has not experienced love, his last relationship was just another failure. Although electrician, Emilio Sanchez, is considerably younger he knows passion. The relationship between these two men is incredible. They share humorous and emotional moments that put this story over-the-top.

The narrator, Ezekiel Robison, has a wide vocal range, offering a unique voice to each character. The dialogue is easily distinguishable among all of the voices in the story. The articulation, pitch and tone follow the emotion - giving animation to the story. Spencer's voice is tremulous and shy, Emilio's accent is smoky and verbose, with the others falling into place around them.
